msvcrt.dll missing, msvcrt.dll error



Insert the CD-ROM Windows XP CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive, and then restart your computer from the CD-ROM.

NOTE: Some computers may require changing settings primary input-output system (BIOS) before they can start the computer from a CD-ROM. For information about changing your BIOS, see your computer documentation.
In the Welcome to Setup screen, press R to start the Recovery Console.
Press the number that corresponds to the installation you want to repair, and then press ENTER.
Type the administrator password, and then press ENTER.
CD-ROM with the Windows XP CD-ROM into the CD-ROM inserted or DVD-ROM drive, type the following commands, pressing ENTER after each command:
cd system32
Reindeer Msvcrt.dll
ROM_or_DVD CD-ROM_Drive_Letter:
cd \ i386
msvcrt.dl_ expand BootDriveLetter: \ windows \ system32
exit
NOTE: BootDriveLetter refers to the drive letter that is done loading. In other words, refers to the unit that has the Windows folder (probably C drive). CD-ROM_Drive_Letter ROM_or_DVD refers to the letter of your CD-ROM or DVD-ROM. Frequently, the CD-ROM or DVD-ROM has an associated letter D.
NOTE: The commercial version of the Msvcrt.dll is dated 23 august 2001. It was included in Windows XP and has the following properties:
